Alumina Feeding Page (3/3)

Feeding Phases Values

For each alumina feeding phase AlPrg determines values like the cell voltage (Ucell) or the bath temperature (Tb) in dependence of the changing alumina concentration. AlPrg uses for this calculations the electrolyte properties and the cell voltage data with the superheat and the interpolar distance being input values e.g. they stay constant.
You may look at these data by selecting the Feeding Phases Vales item from the combo box.

Alumina Feeding Phases Data Window.

AlPrg calculates values like the cell voltage (Ucell), bath temperature (Tb) or maximal alumina solubility (cAl2O3(max)) in function of the changing alumina concentration with time. To see these data you open Feeding Phases Values Window by selecting the corresponding item in the combo box.

When you click on one of the lines in the Alumina Feeding Phases Data Window AlPrg transfers the data into the corresponding calculation pages. In the next figure you see the Alumina Feeding Page together with the Electrolyte Composition/Properties Page and the Cell Voltage Page. AlPrg calculates the feeding values with constant superheat (10°C) and constant interpolar distance (4.2cm):

Alumina Feeding Phases Values.

When you click on a line of the Alumina Feeding Phases Data Window (selected line) AlPrg does the following: it transfers the alumina concentration value into the Electrolyte Composition/Properties Page (cAl2O3 = 3.89%) and calculates new values for the electrolyte temperature (Tb = 955.8°C) and and maximal alumina concentration (cAl2O3(max) = 7.92%) with a constant superheat (10°C). The AlPrg calculates a new cell volatge (Ucell = 3.919V) using a constant interpolar distance (4.2cm).
