Viscosities

After you have selected Viscosities from the drop down window of the Property Combo AlPrg shows the dependence of the viscosities of liquid aluminum and molten electrolyte solubility on the electrolyte composition and the bath temperature. The aluminum fluoride icon graph is selected and consequently the property diagram shows the dependence of the densities on the aluminum fluoride content in the electrolyte.
The grey area means that AlPrg calculates no reasonable values for these aluminum fluoride concentrations.

Viscosities of Liquid Aluminum and Molten Electrolyte

Total Vapor Pressure

According to the relation in the theoretical part the electrolyte viscosity depends only on the bath temperature, aluminum fluoride and aluminum oxide content in the electrolyte. Consequently at constant bath temperature the electrolyte viscosity depends not on the calcium fluoride, lithium fluoride, magnesium fluoride and potassium fluoride content as the next figure shows.
The dependence shown in the above figure comes from the influence of the bath composition on the liquidus temperature.
