On the main window of ATab you see several items: the menu bar, the tool bar with shortcut buttons and title input field, then the Layout-View i. e. a top view of the anode table with the anodes, their numbers as well as an arrow indicating the direction of the line current and finally the time slider showing the anode change schedule during the whole anode change cycle period.

Main Window Components

Main Window Components of ATab.

On the principal window of ATab you see a conventional menu and toolbar, the Layout-View i. e. a top view of the anode table with the anodes and their numbers as well as a time slider that indicates the anode change schedule during the anode change cycle period.

Navigating ATab

To show the Layout-View in the principal ATab window you click on the corresponding item on the menu bar or context menu namely View → Layout. You may use also context menus that you call in the conventional way by pressing the right mouse button. These context menus differ according to the view you are looking at. The next figure shows the main context menu.

MainContextMenu

Main Context Menu.

You open this context menu in the conventional way namely by pressing the right mouse button. You show or hide the Menu Bar or Toolbar, call the views (Layout, Evaluation and 3D-View) and open or close the floating windows (Anode Table Data, Layout History, Numbering Patterns, 3D-View Parameters and Optimization). Finally you may quit the ATab application.

On the tool bar you find shortcut buttons: click, for instance,  on the Layout-View button and ATab shows the Anode Table Layout.

Layout-View Button

Layout-View Button on the ATab Toolbar.

You click on this button to show the Layout-View in the principal ATab window. You can do the same by activating the corresponding item on the main or context menu.

Anode Numbering

Similar to the interactive Anode Table Layout webpage you change the anode numbering by dragging the anode number disks to the wanted position. You want, for instance, to exchange the upper right corner anode (number 10 of the next top figure) with the lower left one (number 11). First you drag the anode number disk 11 to the position of anode 10. The anode number disk 10 moves to the border of the pot shell. During the anode numbering actions the anodes change their color and their size. After you have moved the anode disk 10 to the lower left corner anode the anode numbering is finished and the anodes show their normal color and size.

Start Anode Numbering

Start Changing Anode Numbers.

You want to exchange the position of the corner anode number 10 (lower left) with anode 11 (upper right). You start by dragging the number disk of anode 11 to the position of anode 10.

Dragging Anode Numbers

When you drag the anode numbers disks the anode change their colors and size. After you have dragged the disk 11 to the position of anode 10 the number disk of anode 10 moves to the border of the pot shell.

End Anode Numbering

Finished Anode Numbering.

After you dragged the anode number disk 10 from the border of the pot shell to the anode at the lower left corner the anode numbering is finished i.e. ATab draws the anode in their original color and size.

Anode Change Schedule

If you want to modify the anode change schedule, for instance, change anode 10 on anode change cycle day 1 and anode 11 on day 25 you drag simply the anode change rectangles to the wanted day on the time slider (see the next figures).

As an example you want to change anode 10 on anode change cycle day 1 and anode 11 on day 25.

Dragging Anode Rectangles

Dragging Anode Change Day Rectangles.

First you drag the anode change day rectangle 11 to anode change cycle day 25. Both anode 10 and 11 are now changed on the same day 25.

Finish Anode Change Schedule

Finishing the Anode Schedule Change Action.

But you want anode 10 to be changed on day 1: consequently you the drag anode change day rectangle 10 to day 1.
